General description

Pyruvate kinase isozymes M1/M2 (PKM2) is also called Cytosolic thyroid hormone-binding protein (CTHBP), Opa-interacting protein 3 (OIP-3), Pyruvate kinase 2/3, Pyruvate kinase muscle isozyme, Thyroid hormone-binding protein 1 (THBP1) and p58. PKM2 is a glycolytic enzyme that assists in generating ATP. PKM2 also stimulates POU5F1-mediated transcriptional activation, and plays a role in caspase independent cell death of tumor cells. The ratio between the highly active tetrameric form and nearly inactive dimeric form determines whether glucose carbons are channeled to biosynthetic processes or used for glycolytic ATP production. This control of glycolysis and is important for tumor cell proliferation and survival. PKM2 is specifically expressed in proliferating cells, such as embryonic stem cells, embryonic carcinoma cells, and cancer cells.

Specificity

This antibody recognizes PKM2 near the C-terminus.

Immunogen

Epitope: Near C-terminus
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human PKM2 near the C-terminus.

Application

Anti-PKM2 Antibody is a highly specific rabbit polyclonal antibody, that targets Pyruvate Kinase & has been tested in western blotting & ICC.
Immunocytochemistry Analysis: A 1:50 dilution from a representative lot detected PKM2 in HeLa cells.

Mitophagy is thought to play a key role in eliminating damaged mitochondria, with diseases such as cancer and neurodegeneration exhibiting defects in this process. Mitophagy is also involved in cell differentiation and maturation, potentially through modulating mitochondrial metabolic reprogramming. Here

Endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) is protective against kidney injury, but the molecular mechanisms of this protection are poorly understood1,2. Nitric oxide-based cellular signalling is generally mediated by protein S-nitrosylation, the oxidative modification of Cys residues to form S-nitrosothiols (SNOs).
