General description

Native, von Willebrand factor from human plasma. Glycoprotein complex found in plasma, platelets, and subendothelium. An adhesive protein that mediates the initiation and progression of throm bus formation at the site of injury.

Physical form

Lyophilized from 100 mM glycine, 100 mM NaCl, 25 mM sodium citrate, pH 6.8.

Preparation Note

Prepared from plasma of individuals that have been shown by certified tests to be negative for HBsAg and for antibodies to HIV and HCV.

Reconstitution

Following reconstitution, aliquot and freeze (-20°C). Stock solutions are stable for up to 1 year at -20°C.
