General description

FAAzos are photoswitchable fatty acids which mimics highly unsaturated fatty acids such as arachidonic acid. FAAzo-4 is an azobenzene derivative.

Biochem/physiol Actions

FAAzos are potential modular building blocks for synthetic incorporation into more elaborate photolipids. FAAzo has the potential for the optical control of G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR).
