Platinum on graphitized carbon (20% Pt/Vulcan XC72) is a high surface area material that is used as an electrocatalyst for the development of electrolytic fuel cells and direct methanol fuel cells. It can also be used in the formation of the non-enzymatic sensor for the oxidation of glucose.
