一般說明
染色体结构维持蛋白6（SCM6）属于染色体结构维持家族。至少有六个SMC家族成员以特定组合形成三个异二聚体。SCM6基因定位于人染色体2p24.2。在结构上，SCM6在N和C末端具有DNA结合结构域，一个长的卷曲螺旋结构域和一个铰链区。
特異性
抗SMC6（也称为SMC6L1）特异性识别SMC6。
免疫原
对应于人SMC6第766-779个氨基酸的合成肽，通过N-末端的半胱氨酸残基与KLH发生偶联。该序列在小鼠中相差一个氨基酸，在大鼠中相差两个氨基酸。
應用
兔抗SMC6抗体可用于免疫印迹。
生化／生理作用
染色体蛋白6（SCM6）和SMC5的结构维持主要参与酵母和人类对DNA损伤的细胞反应。酵母SMC5/6复合物包含几种非SMC元素（NSE），包括甲磺酸甲酯敏感性蛋白21（MMS21），其磺酰化复合物的组分。SMC5/6复合物被募集到核酸酶诱导的双链断裂（DSBs）。此事件对于将人类SMC1/3内聚复合物募集到DSB至关重要。已知SCM6与乳头瘤病毒E2蛋白相互作用。拓扑异构酶IIα的有丝分裂畸变和异常分布与Smc5和Smc6的水平降低有关。

溶于含15 mM叠氮化钠的0.01 M磷酸盐缓冲盐水（pH 7.4）中。
儲存和穩定性
若需连续使用，可在2-8℃下保存最长一个月。若需延长储存时间，可将溶液分装并冷冻。不建议反复冻融或存放在“无霜”冰柜中。如果长期储存时出现轻微浑浊，请在使用前通过离心澄清溶液。如果在12小时内未使用，则应丢弃工作稀释样品。
