一般說明
凝集素是碳水化合物结合蛋白。它们无处不在,常见于真菌、植物和动物体内。该蛋白质的二级结构富含β-链,并且在表面上具有碳水化合物结合位点。
應用
Triticum vulgaris(小麦)来源凝集素已用于:
- 处理转染细胞,以进行免疫荧光分析
- 立体定位注射到小鼠体内,以进行神经元示踪
- 免疫组化,以分析心肌细胞

生化/生理作用
凝集素在糖缀合物鉴定、成像和靶向过程中发挥着关键作用。它可用于芯片分析,实现有效的糖组图谱分析。在植物和真菌体内,凝集素可防御病原体/寄生物。凝集素在宿主识别和组织粘附中同样发挥主要作用。
WGA 不具有血型特异性,但具有与 N-乙酰基-β-D-葡糖胺残基和 N-乙酰基-β-D-葡糖胺低聚物的亲和性。WGA 不含蛋白结合糖。
