Serine and arginine repetitive matrix 1 (SRRM1) or SR-related nuclear matrix protein of 160kDa (SRm160) is a component of the exon junction complex (EJC). The gene encoding it is localized on human chromosome 1 and has 16 exons.

生化／生理作用

Serine and arginine repetitive matrix 1 (SRRM1) has a role in mRNA export and acts as splicing coactivator. It activates the 3′ end cleavage of transcripts. Overexpression of the protein results in the accumulation of intron-containing RNAs in the cytoplasm. It also may have a role in recruiting splicing factors to the sites of splicing.
