One of the challenges with Lipid Nanoparticles (LNPs) is effectively delivering the payload to the target cells. However, specific functional groups can be utilized to target these desirable cells, and by attaching them to a PEG lipid, researchers can facilitate drug delivery to specific cell types. By linking mannose with DSPE-PEG2K, targeted delivery to various systems can be achieved.
