Gene Information

human ... PPHLN1(51535)

General description

Periphilin 1 (PPHLN1), part of a transcriptional co-repressor complex, is a nuclear protein that is expressed abundantly with speckled distribution. It is also known as CR (Cdc7 expression repressor ). PPHLN1 gene is mapped to human chromosome 12q12.

Immunogen

periphilin 1 recombinant protein epitope signature tag (PrEST)

Application

Anti-PPHLN1 antibody has been used in western blotting.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Periphilin 1 (PPHLN1) participates in epithelial differentiation. The C terminus domain of the PPHLN1 protein may participate in homodimerization. Overexpression of CR/periphilin promotes S-phase arrest.

Features and Benefits

Prestige Antibodies® are highly characterized and extensively validated antibodies with the added benefit of all available characterization data for each target being accessible via the Human Protein Atlas portal linked just below the product name at the top of this page. The uniqueness and low cross-reactivity of the Prestige Antibodies® to other proteins are due to a thorough selection of antigen regions, affinity purification, and stringent selection. Prestige antigen controls are available for every corresponding Prestige Antibody and can be found in the linkage section.

Every Prestige Antibody is tested in the following ways:
  • IHC tissue array of 44 normal human tissues and 20 of the most common cancer type tissues.
  • Protein array of 364 human recombinant protein fragments.
