Descripción general

Erythropoietin (Epo) is a pleotropic cytokine that promotes erythropoiesis or proliferation and differentiation of red blood cell precursors. Epo is mainly produced by liver cells in fetal stages, by kidneys under hypoxic conditions; liver and brain also secrete Epo is less amounts. The red blood cell production is stimulated when Epo binds and activates the Epo receptor (EpoR) dimer. EpoR directly regulates the signalling by Jak2, PI3K, NF-κB, STAT5A and STAT5B. Epo also inhibits apoptosis of erythroid progenitors by downregulating Fas and FasL. The expression of Epo is under the control of the transcription factor hypoxia inducible factor (HIF). Erythropoietin exhibits disease-modifying effects in infectious diseases and chronic inflammatory disorders
Monoclonal Anti-Erythropoietin antibody specifically reacts with mouse Erythropoietin.

Inmunógeno

purified, CHO cell-derived recombinant mouse erythropoietin.

Aplicación

Monoclonal Anti-Erythropoietin antibody is suitable for neutralization reactions.

Forma física

Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline with 5% trehalose.

The hormone erythropoietin (Epo) maintains red blood cell mass by promoting the survival, proliferation and differentiation of erythrocytic progenitors. Circulating Epo originates mainly from fibroblasts in the renal cortex. Epo production is controlled at the transcriptional level. Hypoxia attenuates the

As the basic function of erythropoietin (Epo) is stimulation of red blood cell production, systemic overexpression of Epo results in erythrocytosis. The patho-physiological consequences of chronically elevated red blood cell counts have been studied in Epo overexpressing mice. Genetically modified
