General description

Each Tenax® TA sampling tube is individually numbered, thermally conditioned, and batch tested for back-pressure and background. These prepacked standard sampling tubes are sealed in exclusive storage containers. They incorporate a glass frit at the inlet, which increases their performance.
We are committed to bringing you greener alternative products, which adhere to one or more of The 12 Principles of Greener Chemistry. Thermal desorption tubes are reusable at least 50 to 100 times, and reduces the usage of accessories like transfer vials, caps, and pipette tips, thus aligns with “Waste Prevention”. Also, these tubes eliminate the usage of toxic solvents like CS2 to extract the VOCs of interest, and thus aligns with “Safer Solvents and Auxiliaries” principle. Click here for more information.

Application

  • Use of PLE-ATD-GC/MSMS for the Quantification of Airborne Pesticides in Active and Passive Samples and in Dust.: This study leverages Pressurized Liquid Extraction (PLE) and Automatic Thermal Desorption (ATD) coupled with Gas Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry (GC/MSMS) for the quantification of airborne pesticides. Tenax TA was utilized to collect airborne particulates and VOCs from both active and passive air samples, illustrating its efficacy in capturing and analyzing environmental contaminants (Rodrigues et al., 2024).

  • Chemical Composition of Atmospheric Air in Nemoral Scots Pine Forests and Submountainous Beech Forests: The Potential Region for the Introduction of Forest Therapy.: This research analyzes the chemical composition of atmospheric air in specific forest environments, employing Tenax TA adsorbents to trap and analyze volatile organic compounds. The findings contribute to understanding the therapeutic potential of forest environments based on their VOC profiles (Dudek et al., 2022).

  • Volatiles of the Apicomplexan Alga Chromera velia and Associated Bacteria.: This study focuses on identifying volatile compounds from the alga Chromera velia and its associated bacteria, utilizing Tenax TA to collect and analyze the VOCs emitted. The research offers insights into the ecological interactions and chemical communication between the alga and bacteria (Koteska et al., 2023).

  • Real-world emission characteristics of semivolatile/intermediate-volatility organic compounds originating from nonroad construction machinery in the working process.: This study investigates the emission characteristics of organic compounds from construction machinery, using Tenax TA tubes to collect emissions during real-world operations. The analysis aids in assessing the environmental impact and occupational hazards associated with these emissions (Shen et al., 2023).

  • Identification of Volatiles of the Dinoflagellate Prorocentrum cordatum.: Focused on the dinoflagellate Prorocentrum cordatum, this research identifies various volatile compounds using Tenax TA, exploring the species′ potential impacts on marine ecosystems and its interactions within the marine microbial community (Koteska et al., 2022).
