Descrizione generale

Vesicle associated membrane protein 4 (VAMP4) is localized on human chromosome 1q24-q25. It is expressed in the skeletal muscle and liver. The protein is part of the soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment protein receptors (SNARE) family. VAMP4 is localized to the trans-Golgi network.

Specificità

Anti-Vesicle Associated Membrane Protein 4 detectsVAMP-4.

Immunogeno

recombinant rat VAMP-4.

Azioni biochim/fisiol

Vesicle associated membrane protein 4 (VAMP4) mediates trans-Golgi network trafficking of membrane-bound and secreted proteins. Studies have shown that VAMP4 has a role in maintaining the structure of the Golgi apparatus.

Stato fisico

Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 1.0 mg/mL bovine serum albumin and 0.05% sodium azide.

Two mammalian proteins, vtila and vtilb, are homologous to the yeast Q-SNARE Vtilp which is part of several SNARE complexes in different transport steps. In vitro experiments suggest distinct functions for vtila and vtilb. Here we compared the subcellular localization

The trans-Golgi network (TGN) plays a pivotal role in directing proteins in the secretory pathway to the appropriate cellular destination. VAMP4, a recently discovered member of the vesicle-associated membrane protein (VAMP) family of trafficking proteins, has been suggested to play
