Azioni biochim/fisiol

Ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF) is part of the cytokine family. It signals through the glycoprotein 130 and LIF receptor β subunit. The protein has neuroprotective effects and activates astrocytes. CNTF also has a role in the differentiation of neural stem cells and is involved in neurotransmitter synthesis.

Paraquat was intravitreously injected into Sprague-Dawley rats. After non-c-Myc iPSC transplantation, retinal function was evaluated by electroretinograms (ERGs).
