Azioni biochim/fisiol
RAD54B (RAD54 homolog B (S. cerevisiae) is a DNA-dependent ATPase belonging to the SWI2/SNF2 protein family. It is expressed in both the mitotic and meiotic cells. It consists of a central helicase domain, and the N-terminal domain. It plays an important role in the double-strand break (DSB) repair during homologous recombination. It has been reported that RAD54B may stimulates Dmc1-mediated DNA strand exchange activity. This DNA-binding protein drives the ATP hydrolysis in the presence of double-stranded DNA.
