Applicazioni

Destruxin A from Metarrhizium anisopliae has been used for immersion and inoculation bioassay in Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus. It has been used as a transport inhibitor in Drosophila melanogaster.

Azioni biochim/fisiol

Destruxin A is a cyclic hexadepsipeptide produced by fungus causing paralysis and death in insects. May suppress the insect immune response. Possesses an inhibitory activity on leukemic cell proliferation, decreasing the number of cells in G2/M phase. It is virustatic against arboviruses.

In a previous study, a spontaneous subtilisin pr1A and pr1B gene-deficient mutant of the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium anisopliae strain V275 has been identified [Wang, C.-S. et al. (2002) FEMS Microbiol. Lett. 213, 251-255]. The insecticidal metabolites of this mutant were

Destruxin A, a cyclohexadepsipeptide related to the enniatins and beauvericin, exhibits ionophoric properties. Calcium ion mobilization across liposomal membrane barriers, for example, has been demonstrated using the calcium ion-sensitive dyes Arsenazo III and Fura-2. Initial molecular mechanics/molecular dynamics calculations indicate

The cyclodepsipeptidic mycotoxin, destruxin, produced by Metarhizium anisopliae is known for its larvicidal properties. The crude destruxin-treated Spodoptera litura larvae revealed a decrease in thiol content and an increment in oxidation of glutathione to glutathione disulfide and ascorbate to dehydro

Destruxins, secondary metabolites first reported in 1961, are cyclic hexadepsipeptides composed of an alpha-hydroxy acid and five amino acid residues. The name "destruxin" is derived from "destructor" from the species Oospora destructor, the entomopathogenic fungus from which these metabolites were
