General description

Monoclonal Anti-USP25 (mouse IgG2a isotype) is derived from the hybridoma U25.7 produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells and splenocytes from BALB/c mice immunized with a synthetic peptide corresponding to a fragment of human USP25. USP25 (ubiquitin-specific protease 25) is a member of the ubiquitin processing proteases (UBP) family. It is located on the gene-poor region of 21q11.2 human chromosome.

Application

Monoclonal Anti-USP25 antibody has been used in:
  • enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)
  • immunoblotting
  • immunocytochemistry

Biochem/physiol Actions

USP25 (ubiquitin-specific protease 25) is a target for sumoylation. It takes place within the two ubiquitin interaction motifs (UIM) of USP25 that are required for efficient hydrolysis of Ub (ubiquitin), and thus impairs USP25 activity as a result of reduced affinity to Ub chains. Overexpression of USP25 has been observed in Down syndrome fetal brain.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
