Family with sequence similarity 3 member C (FAM3C), also referred to as interleukin-like epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition inducer (ILEI), possesses a GG domain and a hydrophobic leader sequence. The gene encoding this protein is localized on human chromosome 7q31.
