Informations sur le gène

human ... HLA-DRA(3122)

Description générale

Human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-DR is a member of HLA class II molecules. It is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 6. HLA class II molecules are highly expressed on B-Iymphocytes, but is also found at minimal levels on T-Iymphocytes, macrophages, thymus epithelial cells and selected cells of various body tissues. HLA-DR consists of a non-polymorphic α chain gene and up to three distinct highly polymorphic β chain genes.
The antibody MEM-12 recognizes common epitope on human HLA-DR which is dependent on the association of alpha and beta chains. DR is the isotype of human MHC Class II molecules expressed on antigen-presenting cells (APC; dendritic cells, B lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages).

Immunogène

Thymocyte membrane

Application

The reagent is designed for Flow Cytometry analysis of human blood cells using 20 μL reagent / 100 μL of whole blood or 1e6 cells in a suspension. The content of a vial (2 mL) is sufficient for 100 tests.

Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

Human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-DR activates a T-cell receptor by presenting antigenic peptides derived from extracellular proteins thus, stimulating an immune response against the antigen. Mutation in the gene increases the risk of susceptibility to inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Crohn′s disease and ulcerative colitis. Overexpression of monocytic (HLA)-DR has been observed in schizophrenic patients.
