Informations sur le gène

human ... ITGAX(3687)

Description générale

Cluster of differentiation 11c (CD11c), also known as integrin subunit α X (ITGAX), is an antigen receptor, encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 16p11.2. The encode protein belongs to the adhesion molecule integrin family and is mainly expressed in natural killer cells, macrophages and even some activated B and T cells.
The antibody BU15 reacts with CD11c (alphaX, p150), a 150 kDa integrin expressed mainly on dendritic cells and tissue macrophages.

Immunogène

Dendritic cells of synovial fluid

Application

The reagent is designed for Flow Cytometry analysis of human blood cells using 10 μL reagent / 100 μL of whole blood or 1e6 cells in a suspension. The content of a vial (1 mL) is sufficient for 100 tests.

Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

Cluster of differentiation 11c (CD11c) delivers co-stimulatory signals to activated lymphocytes. Elevated expression of the gene decreased the risk of death and relapse in gastric cancer (GC) patients. The protein can be considered as an alternative prognosis marker for GC. Overexpression of CD11c in CD8+ cells might lead to the development of Behcet′s disease (BD).

Functions and binding properties of four CD11c-specific mAbs are described here. The mAb 496B stimulated, while 496K inhibited ligand binding of CD11c. The stimulatory mAb, 496B, as well as the inhibitory mAbs BU15 and 496 K appear to act allosterically
