General description

Triethanolamine hydrochloride (TEA-HCl) is a salt form of triethanolamine and is commonly used as a buffer substance in biochemistry. It aids in maintaining the stable pH level in a solution during biochemical reactions. TEA-HCL serves as a buffering agent during protein extraction and protein purification. It is commonly used to adjust the pH of buffer solutions in enzyme assays. In addition to its buffering property, it also exhibits surfactant and emulsifying properties and can be used in some cosmetic and personal care products to adjust the pH and improve solubility.

Application

Triethanolamine hydrochloride buffer has been used in in-situ mRNA hybridization for acetylation of frozen tissues mounted on slides.
