Biochem/physiol Actions

(S)-GSK2920487A is a promising anti-leishmanial agent that potently and specifically inhibits oxidosqualene cyclase (OSC) of Leishmania donovani. (S)-GSK2920487A induces the accumulation of the 2,3-oxidosqualene, a substrate of OSC, in promastigotes and cell-free membrane preparations. It is active against axenic and intramacrophage amastigotes. Also, GSK2920487A is active against intracellular T. cruzi.
