General description

FLNB (filamin B, β) is a 280kDa cytoskeletal protein consists of the NH2-terminal actin-binding domain, a backbone of 24 tandem repeats, and two "hinge" regions. It belongs to the filamin family.

Application

Biochem/physiol Actions

FLNB (filamin B, β) is involved in the organization of actin fibers and endothelial cell motility. It interacts with the cytoplasmic tail of glycoprotein (Gp) Ibα in endothelial cells and platelets. It helps to arrange various transmembrane proteins to the actin cytoskeleton for the scaffold like structure.
