General description

18:1 Caproylamine PE or (1,2-Dioleoyl-sn-Glycero-3-Phosphoethanolamine- N-(hexanoylamine), belongs to a group of head group modified functionalized lipids. Functionalized lipids are commonly used as reporting molecules.

Application

18:1 Caproylamine PE may be used as an indicator in competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for determining affinities between glycolipid analogs and human or mouse CD1d molecules. It may also be used as a lipid antigen for CD1d-Ig–based artificial antigen-presenting cells (aAPC) production.
