General description

  • Polymer architecture: Dendrimer
  • Generation: 1
  • End Group Functionality: RAFT
  • No. Surface Groups: 6
  • Calculated Mol. Wt.: 2050.7 g/mol
  • bis-MPA = 2,2-Bis(hydroxymethyl)propionic acid

Application

Bis-MPA dendritic molecules are based on 2,2-bismethylolpropionicacid (bis-MPA) building blocks. The hydrolysable linkers presented in this type of polymers allow their degradation into byproducts that can be reabsorbed by the body or into excretable non-toxic small molecules. Therefore, this group of dendritic polymers is biocompatible and biodegradable, making them suitable for biomedical applications.
The corona of this product is functionalized with RAFT agents, which allow direct controlled polymerization from the dendrimer surface. It can be readily used to construct multi-arm polymer structure using suitable acrylic monomers.

Herein, we present the first evaluation of cationic dendrimers based on 2,2-bis(methylol)propionic acid (bis-MPA) as nonviral vectors for transfection of short interfering RNA (siRNA) in cell cultures. The study encompassed dendrimers of generation one to four (G1⁻G4), modified to bear

Dendrimers are macromolecular polymer nanostructures containing symmetrical three-dimensional branching units resembling the branches of trees. These structures have been synthesized for specific objectives by the manipulation of six features referred to as “critical nanoscale design parameters” (CNDPs).

Our team of scientists has experience in all areas of research including Life Science, Material Science, Chemical Synthesis, Chromatography, Analytical and many others.
