General description

Erbium(III) oxide (Er₂O₃) is a metal oxide with high thermal stability, optical transparency, and excellent luminescent characteristics. It is widely used in microelectronics, optoelectronics, and biomedical fields. The material is particularly valued for its role in solid-state lasers and optical amplifiers. Additionally, Er₂O₃ is utilized in the production of high-refractive index glasses for optical devices and composite electrolyte for fuel cells.

Application

  • Green emission of tellurite based glass containing erbium oxide nanoparticles: This research explores the optical properties of erbium oxide nanoparticles in glass, which is important for academia chemists studying photonic materials (Noorazlan et al., 2016).
  • … shielding properties for Oxide Dispersion-Strengthened (ODS) alloys through Erbium (III) oxide, Samarium (III) oxide, and Praseodymium (III) oxide into 316L matrix: Relevant for material science, this research investigates the enhancement of shielding properties in alloys by incorporating erbium oxide (Güler et al., 2024).
  • Electrochemical synthesis and characterization of erbium oxide: This paper discusses the synthesis and potential applications of erbium oxide in various high-tech industries, relevant for both academia and industry researchers focusing on advanced material applications (Lee and Kim, 2016).
