Anwendung

Cefotaxime sodium EP Reference standard, intended for use in laboratory tests only as specifically prescribed in the European Pharmacopoeia.

Biochem./physiol. Wirkung

Cefotaxim hemmt die bakterielle Zellwand-Synthese durch Bindung an Penicillin-bindende Proteine ??(PBP), wodurch der letzte Transpeptidierungsschritt der Peptidoglycansynthese in bakteriellen Zellwänden gehemmt wird. Folge davon ist die Lyse von Bakterien durch autolytische Enzyme.
Wirkungsweise: Hemmt Bakterienzellwand-Synthese.
