General description

Nucleosides comprise the natural nucleobases, namely, cytosine (C), thymine (T), uracil (U), adenine (A), and guanine (G) with the sugar ring. DNA and RNA have 2′-deoxyribose and ribose respectively. Nucleotides have nucleoside and a minimum of one phosphate group.[1] They are constituents of nucleic acids and are regarded as building blocks for the synthesis and in nanomaterials assembly as well.[1]

Application

5′-Nucleotides & Nucleosides has been used as a standard mixture in gas chromatography using atmospheric pressure chemical ionization coupled to mass spectrometry (GC/APCI-MS) analysis.[2] It has also been used as a nucleotide standard to generate a calibration curve in high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).[3]
