General description

With their high degree of UV transmittance, low particle count, low acidity and alkalinity and low evaporation residue level, LiChrosolv® solvents are ideal for reproducible separations. Since separations are normally carried out under gradient conditions in analytical HPLC, solvents in"gradient grade" as well as "isocratic grade" are appropriate for use. This enables to minimize the gradient effect of the solvent involved.

Application

Acetonitrile is used as a solvent:
  • In mobile phase in reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) method.
  • In reversed-phase HPLC with an isocratic mode for determining Sudan dyes in chili- and curry-containing foodstuffs.

Protocols

Folic acid or folate is classified as a B vitamin (B9). Folic acid is synthetically produced, and used in fortified foods and supplements. Folate is converted by humans to dihydrofolate (dihydrofolic acid), tetrahydrofolate (tetrahydrofolic acid), and other derivatives, which have various biological activities.
