General description

Barium is a silvery white soft alkaline earth metals. It easily oxidizes in air and water. The electrical conductivity of Barium is very high. Barium is even more chemically reactive than Magnesium, calcium and strontium. It is an essential component of high temperature superconductors.

Application

Critical for the synthesis of pure Ba21M2O5HX (M = Ge, SI, Ga, In, Tl) suboxide Zintl phases.3
In the semiconductor and electronics industries, thinner coatings are required due to newer technology and design. Therefore, it is crucial to reduce unwanted metals or interfering elements to achieve the intended performances. Our Barium beads, which have a 99.99% trace metal basis, are the ideal choice when it comes to high-end thin film coating materials. The undesirable metals have been measured to the ppm level using ICP-Ms. Elemental Barium has wide applications. For example: In order to create barium doped oxide with high carrier mobility and improved electrical stability for thin film transition, barium is utilized in a low temperature solution process[1]

Furthermore, metallic barium is used to produce Barium-Containing p-tert-Butylcalix[4]arene, which is a precursor for the fabrication of BaOTiO2 thin films via dip coating on a sapphire substrate[2] It can be used as a dopant for Pb2+replacement in perovskite films. The addition of barium enhances the power conversion efficiency of organic-inorganic lead halide solar cells.

Interestingly, the solid-state synthesis method is used to synthesize quaternary chalcogenides with thermolectric properties using metallic Ba[3]

Furthermore, barium metal is also used in the highly selective and stereo controlled homocoupling reaction of allylic halide[4]

Our barium beads 0.5-2.0 mm particle size, 99.99% trace metals basis will be ideal precursor materials for the diverse applications.
