Application

Lithium chloride is used in conjunction with N, N dimethylacetamide (DMA) for synthesis of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF), a raw material for renewable energy and chemical production, from lignocellulosic biomass. Lithium chloride is also used as a source for synthesis lithium-ion battery materials (e.g. LiFePO4) and to control growth of polyectrolyte multilayers.
