Application

Ammonium thioglycolate solution can be used in the synthesis of:
  • Thiol functionalized eggshell membrane applicable as adsorbent material for the removal of Cr(VI), Hg(II), Cu(II), Pb(II), Cd(II), and Ag(I) from aqueous water.
  • Cellulose-rhodamine B methacrylamide (cellulose-RhBMA).

It can also be used as a reagent to reduce disulfide bonds in keratin.
