General description

Loliolide, a monoterpene lactone and a member of benzofurans, is a bioactive natural compound commonly derived from plants such as Lolium perenne, Euphorbia hirta, Canscora alata, Saussurea medusa, Xanthium spinosum, Sida acuta and Artemisia ludoviciana. Current research suggests that this metabolite acts as an inhibitor and may exhibit diverse biological activities, including antifungal, antitumor, cytoprotective, antibiotic, antioxidant, antimalarial, and anticancer properties.
