Gene Information

human ... TGFB2(7042)

General description

Anti-TGF β2 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total TGF β2 protein.
Transforming growth factor-β2 (TGFB2) gene codes for the transforming growth factor β2 (TGFβ2).( β (TGF-β) protein superfamily. TGFB2 gene is mapped to human chromosome 1q41.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human TGF beta2.

Immunogen Range: 361-410

Application

Anti-TGF β2, C-Terminal antibody produced in rabbit has been used in western blotting.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Transforming growth factor-β2 (TGFB2) protein plays a key role in transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) signaling pathway. It aids in binding several TGF-β receptors to recruit and stimulate the others against decapentaplegic homolog SMAD protein family. TGF-β2 is involved in the proliferation and metastasis of glioma cells. It is implicated in metabolic syndrome (MetS). Single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in TGFB2 are also associated with end-stage renal disease and conotruncal heart defects.
