General description

Pinocembrin is a major flavonoid molecule, isolated from a variety of plants such as Euphorbia, Sparattosperma leucanthum, Populus, Eucalyptus, Pinus heartwood, etc. It exhibits antitumor, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
Anti-inflammatory.

Application

Pinocembrin has been used as a standard in the determination of pinocembrin in propolis extract, analyzed using ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry (UV-Vis).
Pinocembrin may be used as an analytical reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in honey samples using capillary electrophoresis technique.
