General description

Muscalure is an insect pheromone utilized to attract houseflies. It is generally used as a coactive ingredient in fly-bait products.

Application

Muscalure may be used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in goldenrod (Solidago canadensis L.) flower and its unifloral honey and cuticles of female house flies (Musca domestica L.) by Likens-Nickerson simultaneous distillation-extraction (SDE) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).
