CellASIC® ONIX2 Microfluidics

Microfluidic platform for precise control of cell culture environment for advanced live-cell imaging and microscopy.

The ability to grow, observe and manipulate complex cell cultures requires precision control over the cell culture environment. The second-generation CellASIC® ONIX2 Microfluidic System is a powerful, automated platform for precise manipulation of multiple cell culture parameters, such as gas mixture, temperature, and media, buffer, and treatment flow.

CellASIC® ONIX2 Live-Cell Imaging Platform

The CellASIC® ONIX2 Microfludic System transforms your existing microscope into an automated system for advanced live-cell imaging and analysis.
System components:

  • Small footprint, integrated microincubator controller maintains culture environment
  • Optically clear microfluidic plates allow live-cell imaging for many applications
  • Low-profile culture chambers and manifold mount easily on an inverted microscope
  • Intuitive software allows easy setup for truly automated hands-free cell culture

CellASIC® ONIX2 Microfluidic Plates

The CellASIC® ONIX2 microfluidic cell culture plates are designed for optimal cell health, while allowing dynamic live-cell studies with mammalian cells, bacterial cells, and yeast cells.

Key plate features:

  • Microfluidic volumes allow fast perturbations and exchanges of environmental fluids
  • Perfusion microbarriers allow continuous reagent transport without cell stress
  • Optical glass bottom and chamber enables high-resolution live-cell imaging
  • Flexible design allows multiple independent experiments simultaneously
  • Cells have continuous access to nutrients and removal of waste is uninterrupted

Key Applications for the ONIX Live Cell Imaging and Analysis System

Diverse application-specific plate designs give you the flexibility to conduct the culture and assays that yield the most relevant data. Plates are designed to keep both adherent and suspension cells in focus, and are optimized for cells of varying diameters, including mammalian, yeast, and bacterial cells.
Popular applications of the CellASIC® ONIX2 platform include:

  • Microscopic analysis of 3D cell and organoid culture
  • Chemotaxis/migration in response to chemogradients
  • Real-time and dynamic cellular response to compound addition/withdrawal and changing environmental conditions
  • Primary neuron culture over 21 days
  • Host-pathogen interactions
  • Bacterial single-cell response and biofilm formation
