Gene Information

human ... GABRA1(2554)

Specificity

Specific for GABA and does not cross-react with other amino acids.

Immunogen

GABA-coupled to BSA with glutaraldehyde.

Application

Anti-GABA Antibody, clone 5A9 detects level of GABA & has been published & validated for use in ELISA, IH & WB.
Immunohistochemistry on frozen sections if perfusion fixed. Glutaraldehyde must be included in fixative with paraffin sections: 1:200-1:400. Typical fixative might be 4% PFA, 1% glutaraldehyde in 0.1M sodium phosphate buffer, pH 7.3 .

Immunoblotting not recommended due to low molecular wgt: 103Da.

Optimal working dilution must be determined by the end user.

The 53 kDa insulin receptor substrate protein (IRSp53) is highly enriched in the brain. Despite evidence that links mutations of IRSp53 with autism and other neuropsychiatric problems, the functional significance of this protein remains unclear. We used light and electron

A monoclonal antibody, 115AD5, was raised against GABA coupled to bovine serum albumin. The monoclonal antibody 115AD5 also reacted with other GABA-protein conjugates. The specificity of the monoclonal antibody was corroborated by enzyme-linked immunoassay, dot-immunobinding experiments and immunostaining of rat

Early in development spontaneous activity modulates survival and connectivity of neurons and thus plays a crucial role in the formation of neural networks. The emergence of synchronous activity in cultured neocortical networks initially is driven by large GABAergic interneurons. Here
