DNA polymerase theta (UniProt: O75417; also known as EC:2.7.7.7, DNA polymerase eta, POLQ) is encoded by the POLQ (also known as POLH) gene (Gene ID: 10721) in human. POLQ is a homomultimeric enzyme that is minimally expressed in normal tissues but is overexpressed in tumors. Its expression is observed in testis tissue. It contains a helicase-like domain at its N-terminus and a polymerase domain at its C-terminus. They are separated by a large unstructured central domain. It promotes microhomology-mediated end-joining (MMEJ), an alternative non-homologous end-joining (NHEJ) machinery that is triggered in response to double-strand breaks in DNA. It acts by binding directly the 2 ends of resected double-strand breaks, allowing micro homologous sequences in the overhangs to form base pairs. It then extends each strand from the base-paired region using the opposing overhang as a template. It requires partially resected DNA containing 2 to 6 base pairs of microhomology to perform MMEJ. 外觀

Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 µL.

Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 µL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
