16:0 TopFluor^™ cholesterol carries saturated acyl chains. Approximately 30-40% of the mammalian plasma membrane consists of cholesterol. TopFluor^™ has a moiety, called dipyrromethene boron difluoride. This fluorescent molecule is covalently attached to various lipid molecules.

應用

16:0 TopFluor^™ cholesterol may be used to study its diffusion with phospholipid analogs in model membrane in order to understand cholesterol dynamics at the nanoscale in biomembranes.
