Gene Information

human ... RELA(5970)

General description

Anti-NF-κB p65 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total NF-κB p65 protein.
RELA (v-rel avian reticuloendotheliosis viral oncogene homolog A), also known as nuclear factor κ-B (NF-κ-B) p65 subunit, codes for an important constituent of the NF-κB complex. The gene encoding it is localized on human chromosome 11q13.1. It is also referred as nuclear factor κB subunit 3 (NFκB3).

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human NF-kappaB p65.

Immunogen Range: 247-296

Application

Anti-NF-κB p65 antibody produced in rabbit is used in Western Blotting.

Biochem/physiol Actions

RELA (v-rel avian reticuloendotheliosis viral oncogene homolog A) or nuclear factor NF-κ-B p65 subunit participates in the nuclear factor κ-B (NFκB) signaling pathway. It also modulates inflammation. Alterations in the gene have been linked to schizophrenia and startle reactions.
