Application

Hydrophilic modifying reagent. Derivatives with amino compounds can be regenerated with hydrazine.
Picrylsulfonic acid (2,4,6-Trinitrobenzenesulfonic acid solution, TNBS) may be used in studies on the mechanisms of intracellular pH regulation. TNBS is used to induce inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)/colonic inflammation for studies on its mechanism and treatment.

Caution

decomposes when stored at temperatures ≥0°C with precipitate formation (picric acid)

Linaclotide is a minimally absorbed agonist of guanylate cyclase-C (GUCY2C or GC-C) that reduces symptoms associated with irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C). Little is known about the mechanism by which linaclotide reduces abdominal pain in patients with IBS-C. We

Rectal instillation of trinitrobenzene sulphonic acid (TNBS) in ethanol is an established model for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). We aimed to 1) set up a TNBS-colitis protocol resulting in an endoscopic and histologic picture resembling IBD, 2) study the correlation

Nociceptin/orphanin FQ (N/OFQ) and nociceptin orphanin peptide (NOP) receptors represent an endogenous system modulating gastrointestinal functions and inflammation. We investigated the peripheral effect of N/OFQ and of UFP-101, the NOP antagonist, in a model of colitis induced by TNBS (2,4,6

CD40-CD40L interactions appear to play an important role in the pathogenesis of experimental colitis. We tested the effect and investigated the underlying mechanism of action of systemically administered antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) targeting CD40 formulated in amphoteric liposomes (nov038/CD40). The inhibitory effects of vitamin D on colitis have been previously documented. Global vitamin D receptor (VDR) deletion exaggerates colitis, but the relative anticolitic contribution of epithelial and nonepithelial VDR signaling is unknown. Here, we showed that colonic epithelial VDR
