General description

ChromoCult® Listeria Agar Selective-Supplement contains a mixture of four antibiotics in lyophilized form. It largely inhibits the growth of accompanying bacteria by selective enrichment of Listeria spp. Amphotericin B reduces the growth of yeasts and molds. Polymyxin B inhibits the growth of Gram-negative bacteria. While nalidixic acid sodium salt mainly inhibits the growth of Gram-negative bacteria, it also inhibits some Gram-positive bacteria. Ceftazidime has a broad-spectrum activity against both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria.

Application

FRASER Listeria Selective Supplement is an additive for the preparation of ChromoCult® Listeria agar (base) for the selective growth of Listeria spp.
