General description

NanoFabTx PEG-PCL drug loading screening kit is a ready-to-use nanoformulation kit for the synthesis of PEGylated PCL nanoparticles 50 to 130 nm in size. This kit provides properly selected PEGylated PCL polymers, stabilizer, and protocols for the synthesis of drug-encapsulating nanoparticles by nanoprecipitation and microfluidic methods. Three different PEGylated PCLs are included in this kit, allowing rapid screening of optimal materials for enhancing drug loading. Protocols for two different particle synthesis methods are included.
  • A Nanoprecipitation protocol to prepare drug-encapsulated nanoparticles in standard laboratory glassware.
  • A Microfluidics protocol using commercial platforms or syringe pumps.
The microfluidics protocol uses NanoFabTx device kits (911593, sold separately), which provide all the microfluidics chips, fittings, and tubing required to get started with microfluidics-based synthesis (compatible microfluidics system or syringe pump required).

Application

NanoFabTx nanoformulation reagent kits enable users to encapsulate a wide variety of therapeutic drug molecules for targeted or extended drug delivery without the need for lengthy trial-and-error optimization. Drug encapsulated particles synthesized with the NanoFabTx kits are suitable for biomedical research applications such as oncology, immuno-oncology, gene delivery, and vaccine delivery. Poly (ethylene glycol)-block-poly(caprolactone) (PEG-PCL) is a biocompatible and biodegradable polymer that has been approved by the FDA and the EMA for biomedical and pharmaceutical applications. PEG-PCL based nanoparticles have been widely used as drug delivery systems for different types of therapeutic molecules, to achieve controlled drug release. PEG-PCL nanoparticles offer a slow degradation rate, ideal for long-term implantation and sustained release. And unlike other polymer materials, PEG-PCL does not produce acidic byproducts upon degradation.
