General description

The antibody neutralizes the biological activity of recombinant mouse interleukin-2, but not human interleukin-2.

Immunogen

recombinant mouse interleukin-2 expressed in Escherichia coli.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Interleukin-2 (IL-2) is a cytokine produced by activated T cells in response to antigen stimulation. The effects of IL-2 are mediated by the signaling activated by its binding to IL-2 receptor (IL-2 R). IL-2 activates key signaling pathways such as MAPK, JAK/STAT as well as PI3K/Akt. Activation of these pathways modulates production of inflammatory cytokines, survival and progression through cell cycle.

Physical form

Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline with 5% trehalose.

Preparation Note

Purified using protein G.
