General description

Oxidase Reagent can be used to detect oxidase positive organisms. The reagent is colorless in its reduced state and dark purple in its oxidized state. On applying to an oxidase-positive colony, it changes color.

Application

The reagent is used for detection of oxidase activity of a bacterial culture along with Oxidase Reagent A according to Gaby-Hadley.
