General description

A Certified Spiking Solution® suitable for use in clinical toxicology, forensic analysis, urine drug testing, or prescription monitoring as an internal standard to quantitate levorphanol levels in urine or blood or for isotope dilution methods by LC-MS/MS or GC/MS. Levorphanol is an opiate drug sold under the trade name Levo-Dromoran to treat severe pain.

Application

  • Forensic toxicology: Levorphanol-D₃ was employed as an internal standard in the development of an enantioselective high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method. This method quantitatively determines methorphan and its O-demethylated metabolite in human blood, with applications to post-mortem samples. This study underscores the significance of stable isotope-labeled Levorphanol in enhancing the precision and reliability of forensic toxicology analyses (Lo Faro et al., 2023).
