General description

Silica-based SUPELCOSIL LC-NH2 columns separate monosaccharides, disaccharides, and some trisaccharides, with elution generally in order of increasing molecular weight. Retention decreases as the proportion of water:acetonitrile in the mobile phase is increased. For more information, request T397126 (Sugars on SUPELCOSIL LC-NH2 Columns).
The amino column is most often employed for the separation of mono- and disaccharides. As a normal-phase application, amino columns are used in the petroleum industry (see SUPELCOSIL LC-NH2-NP HPLC Columns for additional details).
