The epitope recognized by PLA0081 maps to a region between residues 775 and the C-terminus (residue 826) of human hypoxia-inducible factor 1, alpha subunit using the numbering given in Swiss-Prot entry Q16665 (GeneID 3091).

Other Notes

Hypoxia-inducible factor-1 (HIF1) is a basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH)-PER-ARNT-sim (PAS) transcription factor that plays a role in the cellular response to hypoxia. HIF1 is a heterodimer of an HIF1-alpha and HIF1-beta subunit. During normoxia, HIF-1alpha is regulated by ubiquitination and interaction with the von-Hippel-Lindau tumor suppressor protein (pVHL).

Inhibiting angiogenesis is a major approach in tumour therapy. To combat angiogenesis, the tubulin cytoskeleton has emerged as an interesting target in many pre- and clinical studies. Contrarily, the actin cytoskeleton has been largely neglected as a potential drug target

Maternal hypoxia is a common perturbation that can disrupt placental and thus fetal development, contributing to neonatal impairments. Recently, evidence has suggested that physiological outcomes are dependent upon the sex of the fetus, with males more susceptible to hypoxic insults

Podocytes play a key role in the formation of cellular crescents in experimental and human diseases. However, the underlying mechanisms for podocytes in promoting crescent formation need further investigation. Here, we demonstrated that mammalian target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1)
