General description

Insulin-Like Growth Factor-I Receptor (IGF-I receptor) is a disulfide-linked heterotetrameric transmembrane protein that belongs to Tyr protein kinase family and is expressed mainly in all cells and tissues. Association of two α (130 kD) and two β (95 kD) subunits of IGF-I receptor is essential for receptor autophosphorylation. It has a pivotal role in cell growth control as well as can induce differentiation, and eventually cell death, of certain types of cells. Anti-Insulin-Like Growth Factor-I Receptor antibody can be used to block cell surface IGF-I sR mediated IGF-I and IGF-II bioactivity. Goat anti-Insulin-Like Growth Factor-I Receptor antibody reacts specifically with recombinant human IGF-I. The product has shown no cross-reactivity for other cytokines tested.

Specificity

The antibody blocks cell surface IGF-I R mediated IGF-I and IGF-II biological activity. At optimal antibody concentration, no more than 40-60% of the IGF-I or IGF-II activity can be blocked by this antibody.

Immunogen

Recombinant human IGF-I soluble receptor expressed in Sf 21.

Application

Anti-Insulin-Like Growth Factor-I Receptor antibody can be used in indirect ELISA and western blotting.

Physical form

Lyophilized from 0.2 μm filtered solution of phosphate buffered saline with 5% trehalose.
