General description

Concentrate for 6x1 L ready-to-use solution. Dilute contents of one ampule (~0.3 M) to 1 L with HPLC grade water to obtain a 0.005 M eluent solution.
Sodium 1-octanesulfonate monohydrate (NaOS) is an ion-pairing reagent.

Application

NaOS has been used as ion-pairing reagent for ultra-high performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) analysis with photodiode array detection to estimate paraquat (methyl viologen) in tissue homogenate. It may also be used in determination of dopamine and its metabolites in brain microdialysates using liquid chromatography combined with electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (LC–ESI-MS/MS).
